About me
Welcome to my world of paper art! I am an art teacher for Saddleback Valley USD - Adult Education, and teach several classes from September through June. I have also been the Fine and Applied Arts teacher for Downey USD - Adult Education and continue to conduct private and museum workshops. My professional calligraphy and paper art have been published and exhibited in the Carnegie Museum of Art, Smithsonian Museum, and various galleries. Until recently, I was the Instruction Editor and Book Reviewer for Somerset Studio, Legacy, Belle Armoire, Art Doll Quarterly, Gallery, Salon, and Stampers' Sampler. I have also been the staff designer for several companies in the paper arts field and am the owner of Creative Designs, a Paper Art Company.

This is Mary Lou S. I can say sylvia's class are the greatest.. she may be doing alot of things but she always finds time to learn the newest things and pass them on to you.. She take the time to make sure you know how to do the projects and do them right. I was with from the begining of he teaching at Downey Adult School and I would not traid these 10 years for some outher teacher. I'm sorry she left us but you all know have the oppertunity to be with a great Teacher. Enjoy Love and best to you all.. Mary Lou

Sylvia, the site (blog) is beautiful. The samples are wonderful.
I am looking forward to more.
Seeing the bookbinding samples reminded me of the great time I had in your classes. I miss them and driving the hour and a half each way was definitely worth it!
